November 18: Four houses in Haa town have been razed to the ground by a fire this afternoon. Another house was partially damaged. Fourtunately, there was no casualty.
The houses were all two storied traditional Bhutanese houses. Two households lost all their belongings and the rest were able to save some of their belongings.
The fire started around 1 pm. The police, dzongkhag officials led by the Dzongda, IMTRAT personnel and the business community helped contain the fire.
The cause of the fire is not known.
Upon hearing the news, His Majesty the King also rushed to the scene. |
